Thomas 'Tommy' Stubbs

MEET OUR SENIOR BUSINESS CONSULTANT

Mr. Tommy Stubbs is one of the most passionate, committed and thorough persons you’ll ever meet. He’s an entrepreneur, journalist, publisher, organizer, producer and sports administrator. He brings energy, optimism and people-skills to everything he lays his hands on.
He co-hosted the weekly The Locker Room sports show on Our TV Cable Bahamas and served as television commentator for the Don’t Blink Home Run Derby by pro players.
Mr. Stubbs also organized and produced The Xcel Awards (under the patronage of Bahamian Olympian Pauline Davis-Thompson) to honor top high school male and female student-athletes and coaches, and organized a welcome home celebration for the Bahamas 2016 Olympic team.

Mr. Stubbs served on a Crime Prevention Committee of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and on We The People Bahamas, an organization that offered ideas to improve infrastructure and the quality of life for residents.
As a student at C.C. Sweeting Senior High, he was Assistant Coach of the ladies softball team and competed at the highest level in school track and field, soccer, basketball and softball. As a teenager, he was timekeeper, scorer and chief statistician of the Bahamas Amateur Basketball Association in the late 1970s.
Businessman
Mr. Stubbs played an integral role in establishing Buttons Bridal & Formal Wear, the first full-service business dedicated to weddings, prom and other formal celebrations which became an institution for over 32 years, renowned for style, innovation and service in the Bahamas.
He started the Bahamas Bridal Show, the largest bridal event in the country designed to promote and showcase products and services to the wedding market. As the show’s executive producer, he has led a team of 70-plus volunteers, models and staff to present the show that attracts annually an average of 50 local and international businesses. He’s also the publisher of The Wedding Guide, a 40-page handbook-size magazine.
Special Love for Baseball & Softball
He served as Bahamas Baseball Association junior league director, scorers and commissioner, and coordinated the first Bahamian junior baseball team in 1982 to travel for competition abroad. The team won 2 of 3 exhibitor games against Miami Khoury League in Tamiami, Florida. For his efforts, the Bahamas Ministry of Youth honoured him for dedicated services to youth. He hosted and organized Buttons Formal Wear annual slow-pitch softball tournament held as a tribute to the late Chris Ferguson.
He represented The Bahamas on the field at the Pan American Game baseball qualifying tournament in Mexico City. He made major contributions to Buttons baseball team winning four Bahamas baseball championships and helped the Bahamas win its first international senior baseball championship in North Carolina, USA.
He led a select group of young players to spearhead the formation of Nassau Baseball League to reignite quality senior baseball in 1994. He coached youth baseball in Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Junior Baseball League of Nassau.
Mr. Stubbs’s sports administrative skills propelled him to the following positions:
• Public relations officer, Nassau Baseball League
• Commissioner, New Providence Softball Association
• Vice president and president, New Providence Old Timers Softball
He presented Major League Baseball player, the late Ed Armbrister, recipient of two World Series championship rings with the Cincinnati Reds, at Ed’s Bahamian Hall of Fame induction. He sponsored and chaired a group to establish Ed Armbrister Baseball League at Windsor Park, Nassau.
The Journalist
Mr. Stubbs was honoured by his high school alma mater, C.C. Sweeting Senior, for excellence in journalism as a writer for The Nassau Guardian; publisher, editor and writer of Sports National tabloid newspaper, The Miami News, Miami-Dade Community College student newspaper, The Falcon; student yearbook at Florida International University, where he served as sports editor of its student newspaper. He’s author of fictional novel, Deportation, and has developed a table-top Squeeze Play Baseball game.

MEET OUR CONSULTANT

Ms. Makeva Wallace is a multi-talented individual with intelligence, poise and charm. She started her career in the bridal and formal wear industry at Buttons Bridal & Formal Wear in 1999 and is also a fashion show choreographer and coordinator of the Annual Bahamas Bridal Show which started in 1990.
Ms. Wallace is the lead wedding coordinator of Willow Events Bahamas, which specializes in weddings, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, baby showers, gender reveals, retirement parties, seminars and more. She is also the hostess of Wedding Dreams radio talk-show which is produced in association with the Bahamas Bridal Show.
In addition, she is the voice of many bridal show and Buttons radio and TV commercials and the brain behind “Girls Night Out,” a special event which started in 2014. Makeva also manages an aviation company which carries out charter flight services and cargo shipping.

MEET THE DIRECTOR OF SALES & EVENTS

Ms. Amber Stubbs has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in French, with a minor in Business from Baker University. She also has an educational background in Computer Information Systems from the College of The Bahamas (now University of The Bahamas). She is an entrepreneur, heading her company Kingdom Website Development and Event Management. She has a knack for problem solving, design, communications and bringing clients dreams to life.
Ms. Stubbs is a former Diplomat and was a Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over four (4) years and during this time she assisted with ⁠organization, planning and management of events within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister. She served as Conference Logistical Manager and Protocol Liaison at some of these events, which also involved hosting international guests, international organizations and Heads of State.
Ms. Stubbs is also a member of the Production Team of the Annual Bahamas Bridal Show and has been a model in the show since 2008.

MEET OUR TECHNICAL OFFICER

Mr. Richard Rudon has a wealth of experience in radio and television production. He has produced some of the country’s premier radio talk shows, including “Issues of the Day”, “Jones & Co”, “Darold Miller Live”, “Chrissy Love”, “Jeffrey Lloyd”, “The Blank”, “Wedding Dreams” by Buttons Bridal & Formal Wear, and “Carifusion”, a soca-carnival music mix.
Mr. Rudon is instrumental in the selection and editing music for theatrical fashion show of the Annual Bahamas Bridal Show which also airs on national television. He has produced numerous national newscasts for Star 106.5FM and Nassau Guardian Radio 96.9FM through (2008-2019); Jones Communications/ Love 97FM where he worked through 1994-2008 after working for The Tribune network (1991-1994).
In addition, he engineered the creation of Exuma’s The Blaze FM (2019-2021) and produced radio shows for Caribbean Satellite Network (CSN), Ft. Lauderdale. He also produces live and recorded church services, political rallies, and has co-produced and provide audio and technical support for concerts and stage plays.
